The Book Length Project Group returned to Mattie Furphy House last month, ready to start another year of galloping through our manuscripts. Who will be first past the post, you ask. It’s not a race, we answer, and probably not even a gallop if we are honest. But definitely not a plod. More an elegant canter.
In February, we shared our book length projects, discussed what we want to achieve this year, and two of us wrote some very funny write-to-a-prompt stories about planning a murder. We also tackled the tricky task of writing a synopsis and a logline; an essential skill for submitting your manuscript to a publisher.
This month we will be back in the saddle to look at structure and plot. We have also committed to taking turns to read aloud from our manuscripts and receive feedback. Yes, it is terrifying, but in my experience, the BPLG are a gentle bunch. Come along and join us! We’d love to hear from you.
The Book Length Project Group meets on the third Sunday of every month at Mattie Furphy House in Swanbourne. All FAWWA members and friends are welcome. If you would like to join us, please go to https://www.fawwa.org/event
