Sixteen Weeks

The list of What You May Be Feeling in my dog-eared pregnancy bible, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, is getting longer. Happily, morning sickness is over, but I’m still tired and getting hungry. A four month old fetus is the size of an avocado, which I used to serve mashed to my own babies. I like my avocados on toast, like everyone else, with eggs and hot chilli sauce. If I’d eaten that when I was pregnant for real, I’d have got heartburn. My book-baby hasn’t grown any bigger since last month, which I’m sure is a comfort to my publisher seeing as it has been type set and set to the printer. I met my publisher’s marketing manager yesterday. She is lovely, of course, and taught me how to do social media better. Look out.
